What made you want to be a therapist? I grew up with a core family value that aims to promote the welfare of others. As I got older, I feel that it’s an honor to be able to witness the “flow” of one’s experience and find the process to be a reward in of itself. My values regarding the importance of human relationships and supporting the innate dignity and worth of a person assisted in my passion to serve various populations. Where did you get your degree? Fordham University Who is your ideal client? My ideal clients range from late teenage – elderly life span who work to understand the quality of therapeutic relationship in relation to personal development. The process of building trust, in of itself, is a process that allows collaboration towards one’s personal goals. My ideal clients may present with difficulties with emotional regulation, challenges with life transitions, and experiences with grief/loss. In building a therapeutic relationship, ideal clients will be receptive to gaining self-awareness of personal worldviews, challenging their thoughts, and constructing more effective cognitions. What are your strengths as a therapist? As a therapist, I am empathetic towards individual life experiences that shape one’s world view and am respectful towards client’s process towards personal development. I hold space, listen without judgement, and am passionate about person-centered approaches. What special training do you have? Cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive challenging techniques, solution- focused therapy, grief work, mindfulness practices. What is a fun fact about you? I have an allure towards extreme sports and have participated in bungee humping and skydiving. What is your favorite quote? Be patient with yourself. Self-growth is tender; it’s holy ground.
